Month in Review

So it's been over a month since my last post. I guess I just haven't been in much of a blogging mood lately. But here is what we've been up to for the past few weeks.
In early April our kitties, Sox and Patches, turned 15 years old! I've had them since I was 13!
We love them to death!

My Mom came to visit us for a week in April. We had tons of fun while she was here. We started to miss her the moment she left.

Nicole loves her Grandma!

Easter fun!

A trip to the Aquarium

A walk to the falls.
(With a little girl who finds it very hard to hold still)

And here is a health update:

For those of you who don't know, when I was 21 I was diagnosed with Osteopenia. I attempted to take medication to help build some bone density back but the medication gave me throat ulcers! Ouch! So I just started taking calcium and vitamin D supplements, but not very consistently. With several years passing and having a baby(which pulls even more calcium from your body) I decided to get a second bone density scan to see whether I was worse, the same, or better. Unfortunately I am worse, but just slightly. So I've made the decision to really get serious about taking my calcium and vitamin D supplements, about 200% DV everyday, and trying to do specific exercises for my hips. I really hope over the next couple of years I am able to build some bone density back. Wish me luck!

This shows where my bones currently stand:

Happy 2nd Birthday Nicole!

I'm a little late in posting this, but better late then never, right?
Nicole's 2nd Birthday was Tuesday, March 24th. On that day we just had a small family celebration. Her dad brought her home a big bouquet of balloons, we had dinner, then cupcakes with Birthday Song and candles, then opened a couple presents.
The official Birthday Party was Saturday the 28th and it was lots of fun! We had a BBQ with family and good friends. Luckily the weather worked out in our favor, I was worried for a while there. Nicole loved playing with everyone and getting lots of attention.
I can't believe my baby is 2 years old! She already seems so grown up. As I've said in other posts, she's talking like crazy and she knows the alphabet and can almost count to twenty! She is also very close to being completely potty trained, hooray! And she has started spelling words! I'll show evidence of that in another post.

First real bike!
Yeah, a slide!

Nicole was so good about sharing and taking turns with her new slide.

Love of Art & ABC's!

It seems Nicole shares my love of art. I bought her some paints a few weeks ago and she asks to paint about everyday. I loved art growing up and I'm so glad to see that that may be something we can enjoy doing together as she grows up.

And I wanted to throw this in. I sort of had to push her along in this video to do her ABC's but I finally got it on video.

SPRING IS HERE!!!

Some of my first flowers of the year!!!

I'm so excited it's Spring!

Our First Helicopter Ride!

Today we went to a fund raiser for a little league team. For a small donation you could go for a short helicopter ride! Everything about going in a helicopter is scary to me! The small space, the height, and the fact that helicopters always seem to crash! But I got up my nerve and did it!
I'm glad I did. Unfortunately it was a little too scary for Nicole so she didn't go up with us.

Our Big Girl

23 months old and counting down to the big 2!
We can't believe our baby girl is going to be two years old in a month!
She has turned into a little girl so fast!
She is officially talking, among many other things.
And when I say talking, I mean non-stop.
Even though the talking can get annoying sometimes,
I love hearing whats on her little mind and
what she thinks about different things. It's awesome!

Wanting to eat at the big table like everyone else.
(We need to find a booster seat!)

Practicing her typing skills.

"Helping" dada build some furniture.

Practicing her awesome soccer skills.

First Hair Cut!

Nicole's hair has been growing and growing and just getting out of control, so I decided to attempt a hair cut myself! It was an all day project(because Nicole can only sit still for a minute at a time) but I think it turned out okay. I figure I better get my hair cutting practice in now while she still could care less about what she looks like...he he.
(She couldn't even sit still long enough for me to get good pics of it, but you get the idea of it.)
